San Francisco, CA – February 1, 2012 — Advocates of homeopathy can celebrate the evolution of a new organization set to dynamically expand the general understanding and use of homeopathy through the creation of public outreach clinics in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The Homeopathy Institute of the Pacific (www.HomeopathyIP.org), or HIP for short, will wage public information campaigns and spearhead education, research and treatment initiatives. The organization is stepping up to the front lines of public health by homeopathically treating traditionally difficult-to-serve populations like veterans and the homeless. Homeopathy is a low-cost holistic form of medicine in widespread use outside the United States, and gaining popularity domestically.
“For the past six years, a group of homeopaths have been volunteering at the Mission Neighborhood Resource Center, successfully treating homeless individuals, many of whom are veterans, suffering from Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder (PTSD),” says Renita Herrmann, Executive Director of the newly-formed HIP.more »
“With HIP, we’re taking it to the next level. We’re applying for government grants to establish homeopathic clinics to treat veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. We have seen excellent results, both short-term and long-term, for PTSD within this group,” says Ms. Herrmann.
Like the Mission Neighborhood Resource Center clinic, HIP will also focus its efforts on homeless populations because the two groups are intertwined and bear many similarities, both in symptoms and treatment needs. As HIP expands, it plans to establish clinics for other under-served populations including minorities, single parents and the uninsured.
HIP evolved in 2011 out of the former Pacific Academy of Homeopathy, originally established in 1990 as a school for training classical homeopaths. The Pacific Academy was an early leader in homeopathic education in California and the United States, graduating numerous homeopaths and presaging the surge of current public interest in alternative medicine.
The Homeopathy Institute of the Pacific (HIP) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to improving health through the advancement of homeopathy. Its mission is to expand the use of homeopathy through dissemination of information to the public, continuing education for homeopaths, furthering research in homeopathy, and establishing homeopathic clinics. Social service agencies and non-profits interested in partnering with HIP to provide homeopathic services to their clients are invited to contact the organization through their website or at: (415) 4949HIP.
HIP is making its formal debut at the upcoming Bay Area Homeopathy Association (BAHA) Winter Party on February 19, 2012. HIP invites you to visit their website at www.HomeopathyIP.org/subscribe to subscribe to their mailing list, or make a tax-deductible donation to support their efforts to bring homeopathy to the front lines of public health.

The documentary Broken Soldier exposes a heart-breaking problem, but knowing that PTSD is treatable through the use of Homeopathy gives hope. In our clinics we have seen people suffering from the affects of war, PTSD, and how homeopathy can completely restore peace of mind. We have witnessed restoration of real health in veteran's lives without side effects.
Our goal at the Homeopathy Institute of the Pacific clinics is to provide a place where every veteran and their family members can come and get "real health and real care". We offer immediate attention and care for the fragile and vulnerable. Often, our visitors leave the clinic feeling better than when they came in. Being able to serve our country by helping these brave men and women is not only an honor and a pleasure, it is a part of our mission.
